Today we listened to teacher read us a story in Irish called an Bogha Báistí (The rainbow) from a big book. We also got to look at a story from TG4. Cúla 4 is the section for children. There are lots of programmes you can watch as Gaeilge (in the Irish language). Today we listened to a story from Scéal an Lae (Story of the Day). We listened to the story Tá Eagla ar an Bhéar. Even though we didn't understand every word we used the pictures to help us understand. We will make another photostory at the end of the week on our theme of clothes - Éadaí.
Today we started learning about fractions for the first time. Over the next week will be exploring what a fraction is. We found out today that a half is two parts which are equal. We will look for more examples of a half tomorrow. Here are some we found today. We also got a little treat - 1/2 a bun each. They were yummy. We used Jelly Beans to share between two and found what 1/2 the set was.
This week to celebrate the love of reading we only had reading homework. ON Friday we dressed up as a character from a book. We also brought in our books to show the book our character was from. Here we are. Don't forget you can use your book voucher for a free book in Easons or you can use it in exchange for €1.50 off a book of your choice. Can you guess who we dressed up as?
Today we learned what it is to be in a bully-free-zone. Say No! to BulliesWe loved this song today for our maths warm up. Can you sing along? |
