For science this week we looked at a skittles experiment. We worked in groups of three. We recorded our skittles pattern using the app "Seesaw". Miss Hallinan poured on hot water in the middle of the plate and we watched the magic unfold. Our patterns were beautiful. We recorded our findings with Seesaw app and we tagged the children who were in our group so we can look back at it again. Have a look at some of the amazing patters.

Congratulations to the boys and girls in 1st and 2nd class who won a prize for their Halloween colouring. Our judge was Mrs Campbell - our new secretary. Well done.
We had great fun making lots of Halloween art all week. We entered the Credit Union colouring Competition, made spiderwebs, revealed some magic art, made toilet roll monsters, made spooky ghosts. It was great fun. Have a look.
2nd Class have been learning about The Law of Love. Jesus knew that he would soon go back to his Father in Heaven but he also new that he would alsp be with his friends in a new way. Before he died he gave his friends a rule to live by. He said "Love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that your are my followers".
Our theme for this week is Halloween. We are enjoying singing lots of spooky Halloween songs like Wicked Witch, The Ghost of John, Something Spooky and Halloween is Coming. Here are some songs you can sing-along to. 1st Class were busy helping Miss Hallinan to bake a cake while 2nd class were in the hall doing choir practice for mass on Monday. This week were talking about Birthdays. We followed the recipe in our Unlocking SESE book and learned about mixing ingredients.

Today every class in the school had a science show from Declan Holmes from Primary Science Ireland. The lesson for 1st and 2nd Class was on sound. It was great fun. After the show we went to the hall where 6th class showed us experiments which they had learned from Declan earlier in the day. Have a look.
Today 2nd class got a lovely surprise when they got to go to the hall to see a play. While 2nd were watching the play, 1st class from Miss Hallinan's and Miss Leonard's got to do some hurling skills with Adrian Hessian, the hurling coach. Adrian was very impressed with the skills from 1st class and believes we could have a good hurling team from Culleens in years to come. We all had to wear our helments for safety. We also learned all about the different parts of the hurley stick.
