The Chinese New Year begins on the 1st of February this year and they will celebrate the Year of the Tiger. The Chinese zodiac follows a twelve year cycle, each of the years being named after an animal. The Chinese believe that people born in a particular year take on the characteristics of the animal associated with that year. Most of our class were born in the year of the snake and some were born in the year of the horse. It is said that the "animal hides in your heart". To find out what year you were born in click here 15 days after the New Year festivities is the Lantern Festival. Did you know that during the Lantern Festival, lantern owners often place riddles on the lanterns? If you guess the riddle correctly you can win a prize. We are solving riddles at school and on Seesaw too for a small prize. We made some lanterns and money wallets. Red and gold are lucky Chinese colours.
