We did lots of exciting maths activities during Maths Week. Here are some pictures from our maths trail. We had lots of tasks to complete e.g. finding 2D and 3D shapes, counting the number of cars in the car park and then how many wheels they all had! We also presented our photos from our 2D and 3D shape hunt to the class by mirroring the photos from the iPad we used in pairs to the whiteboard.
2nd Class enjoyed a lovely trip to Belleek Woods to celebrate National Tree Day in Ocotber. Thank you to Cynthia for a very informative talk. Stay tuned for our autumn presentation coming soon.
We worked on the explanation genre in English in September. We read instructions on how marbling works and how papier mache works. We had to try it out to get the full picture!
We also had a lovely surprise visit from Sam Coleman. Sam brought in his King pigeon Antonia. Thank you so much to the Colemans. She is beautiful.
To celebrate World Animal Day we had a lovely visit from Scratchy (the boy ferret) and Pointy (the girl ferret). Thank you to Liam's Dad John and Liam's Mum Donna for their visit. They were a big hit today with the children and the teachers.
Did you know a male ferret is called a hob, a female is a jill and a baby is called a kit. Scratchy and Pointy are polecat ferrets. They can have between 2 and 10 babies in a litter. |
