We read the poem Witches' Menu by Sonja Nikolay. It was all about the ways a witch likes to cook a lizard. We examined the line "Salty Lizard Hide" and based our art around it. We got 3 lizard templates and headed outside. We looked for objects which would give a good bumpy lizard hide and made rubbings from this. Have a look.

Here we are with our Saint Patrick's Day headbands. Well done to our Saint Patrick's Day colouring competition winners.
You can now watch video the Christmas Carol Service which was held on Tuesday 19th December 2016 in Saint Patrick's Church.
Christmas Carol Service 2016 from Culleens NS on Vimeo. We had two Christmas colouring competitions over the festive season. The first competiion was colouring a Christmas bauble and the 2nd competition was to design a Christmas jumper. Here are some winners.
We also had a letter from Poppen, one of Santa's elves. He said he was very busy in Santa's workshop and needed help. He sent us some job application forms. He was looking for a toy maker, a cookie baker and someone to wrap Christmas presents. We all filled out an application form and Miss Hallinan posted the letters to Poppen. A few days later Poppen wrote back to us and told us that he had caught up on his work and that he was very thankful that we applied. He sent us some nice Christmas pencils to say "Thank You".
For science this week we looked at a skittles experiment. We worked in groups of three. We recorded our skittles pattern using the app "Seesaw". Miss Hallinan poured on hot water in the middle of the plate and we watched the magic unfold. Our patterns were beautiful. We recorded our findings with Seesaw app and we tagged the children who were in our group so we can look back at it again. Have a look at some of the amazing patters.
Congratulations to the boys and girls in 1st and 2nd class who won a prize for their Halloween colouring. Our judge was Mrs Campbell - our new secretary. Well done.
We had great fun making lots of Halloween art all week. We entered the Credit Union colouring Competition, made spiderwebs, revealed some magic art, made toilet roll monsters, made spooky ghosts. It was great fun. Have a look.
Here is some of our art for St. Patrick's Day. We made rainbow spirals with a pot of gold. We listened to to teacher read the story Larry The Lonely Leprechaun and then we made our own Larry.
