This week for our Brain Break we are singing the song Baby Shark. We love it. Join in at home. We will have assembly on Thursday. Each class will perform a song/music/poem etc from a different country. We will sing Rainbow Girl from China. 2nd Class girls will sing an Australian call and response song. Then 2nd class will play Frère Jacques and Alouette Gentille Alouette on the tin whistle. Here are the words of the two French songs which 2nd class will play on Thursday. We have started to learn the song Beidh Aonach Amárach. Here is nice video to go with the song. We are learning this song at the moment. Here is a clip from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with the theme song. Today we listened to our first Christmas song - "Hush! There's a baby". We think we might do this one for the Carol Service. We also learned the Animal Square Dance for the song "Something Extra Special". Some of us were practicing the dance in the yard today. The Carol Serive will be on Tuesday 20th of December in St. Patrick's Church. Sing along. 1st Class were listening to this beautiful version of Silent Night in their Grow in Love programme.
We also looked at this video All About Volcanoes. We are learning this song this week. You can sing along at home too. Today we recited this funny poem and then we looked at the video. Do you like peanut butter? A peanut sat on a railroad track, His heart was all a flutter, Round the bend, Came number 10, Toot! Toot! Peanut Butter. Today we learned this fun poem/song. You can sing along too. We started learning about time today. We loved this catchy song to revise the days of the week. Sing along. There is also a song to revise the months of year. As Valentine's day is approaching, we sang this funny song about Toe Knee Chestnut. We are also reading some poems - Tickling and Kisses. On Friday we will make some nice Valentine's Art. Today we learned a Caribbean song called "Mango Walk". When mangos are picked they are laid out in rows of eleven and it is easy to sneak along the side and steal the mangos at the edge - number eleven. Have a listen to this version of Mango Walk. We also tasted some mango which was delicious. Today we were listening to the The Cats’ Duet by Gioacchino Rossini. We thought it was very funny. I wonder what the cat's are singing about? Here are two different boy's choirs singing. Today in Geography we were looking at maps. We had to look at the map of the zoo and find where the animals were. We listened to this song first.
