Hope you all survived the last 3 weeks! No doubt it’s been strange. Hopefully we will all be back to normal soon.
Your children should have got their Easter holidays yesterday 3rd of April. There will be no work assigned to your children during these two weeks. However they are not off the hook!
There are plenty of activities to keep busy over the Easter e.g the school blog has lots of websites and ideas for home – The newest post is one on “History in the Making”. In January we explored “The Big Snow of 1947” and we realised there was very little articles on this when we began to research. The Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina had some evidence of life then but not a lot. We are lucky that we have so many ways to record life now. We are living in History so it would be great to keep up the journal entry every day or if you have a printer you could print the Time Capsule document from the blog - https://culleensballina.scoilnet.ie/blog/coronavirus-covid-19/diary-wellness/, fill it out and keep it somewhere safe for years to come.
Keep up the reading – Try Epic Books (it should be working for everyone now at home. Class code – zky5443, try Oxford Owl – Username: 2ndculleens Password: culleens. Mrs Cooke also texted a message yesterday about an online library - https://culleensballina.scoilnet.ie/blog/coronavirus-covid-19/english-at-home/
Keep up the handwashing and social distancing. Keep activate everyday – why not try the daily workout from The Body Coach on his Youtube Chanel - https://culleensballina.scoilnet.ie/blog/coronavirus-covid-19/stay-active/
Do some baking, gardening, play games as a family, draw, colour, chat and have fun.
I hope to have Google Accounts created for your child soon so after Easter we start to share our work or create something new. Once these are ready I will email you your child’s details.
Thank you to those of you who completed the survey. It’s still open if you wish to participate - https://forms.gle/CzdciZVHQyhRNWoQA
Happy Easter to all. If you have any questions please email [email protected]. I would love to see some creations from the week or feel free to show something nice from your Easter.
Thank you,
Kind Regards,
Emma Hallinan
